Maruti Suzuki India has reported 1.87% rise in total sales in September 2024 at 184,727 units. The company had dispatched 181,343 units in the same month last year. Total domestic passenger vehicle sales were at 144,962 units last month as compared with 150,812 units in the year-ago month, a dip of 3.88%.
Sales of mini segment cars, comprising Alto and S-Presso, rose to 10,363 units last month as against 10,351 units a year ago. Sales of compact cars, including Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, WagonR and Swift, declined 11.77% to 60,480 units as compared with 68,551 units in the year-ago month.
Utility vehicles, consisting of Grand Vitara, Brezza, Ertiga, Jimny, Invicto, Fronx and XL6, clocked sales of 61,549 units last month as compared to 59,272 units earlier. Sales of Eeco were at 11,908 units last month as against 11,147 units in the year-ago period, while that of light commercial vehicle Super Carry stood at 3,099 units as against 2,294 units earlier. Its exports last month rose to 27,728 units in September 2024 as compared with 22,511 units in the same month last year.
