Hindustan Unilever has completed the sale and divestment of its Water Purification business carried under the brand ‘Pureit’ on November 01, 2024. This move is in line with company’s strategic intent to focus sharply on core categories. Pureit provides essential water purification solutions to millions of loyal consumers. 

Earlier, the company had signed an agreement for divestment of its Water Purification business including the trademarks, copyrights and other intellectual properties and identified assets and contracts associated with the business, as a going concern on slump sale basis. The business has been sold to A. O. Smith India Water Products, a leading global water technology company.

Hindustan Unilever is in the FMCG business comprising primarily of Home Care, Beauty & Personal Care and Foods & Refreshment segments.
