Torrent Power Limited is an Indian holding company. The company operates in three segments: generation, transmission and distribution, and renewable energy sources. The production segment consists of the production of electricity from heat sources (gas and coal) and the sale of regasified liquefied natural gas. Transmission and Distribution consists of transmission and distribution activities (licensed and concessionaires) and related support services. The segment also includes the electrical cable business. The Renewable Energy segment consists of electricity generation from renewable energy sources, including wind and solar energy. It has a thermal power generation capacity of 3,092 megawatts (MW) and has coal, gas, solar and wind power plants. It also operates in the renewable energy segment with a capacity of 787 MW, making the total generation capacity 4,110 MW. The company has erected about 249 kilometers (km) and 105 kilometers of 400 kV double circuit power lines.
